The Abominable Snowmansion is an outdoor-oriented facility featuring spectacular views of New Mexico sunsets, occasional evening coyote choruses and contact with a small traditional Spanish community. We are a 60-year-old classic adobe lodge with large dorm rooms, spacious private rooms with private baths and private rooms with shared baths. Our campground features authentic tipi's, rustic cabins and a grassy lawn to pitch your own tent. All accommodations include kitchen, shower and toilet facilities. Come enjoy the company of international travelers and outdoor enthusiasts in our lodge or campground located in the heart of rural & charming old New Mexico! Right across from the hostel is the Taos Indian Pueblo's sacred land. A short drive away is the famous Taos Ski Valley ( www.skitaos.org ) and Carson National Forest. We're a family-run establishment like those which have served travelers throughout Europe since the beginning of the century. The Snowmansion is a clean, comfortable facility with a casual friendly atmosphere. We've been hosting summer and winter groups for over 30 years...Our lodge is designed with groups in mind. A large portion of our 7,000+ sq. ft. is devoted to common areas for the exclusive use of our guests. Our six large dorm rooms open into the main common area which hosts a piano, pool table, and fireplace. Each of the dorm rooms has its own bathroom and shower room, so there is no need to go outside your room to use the facilities. Our dining room just off the main area, can also be used as a meeting room. Group leaders love the Snowmansion layout because of its safe environment and ease in chaperoning their groups. We offer special group discount rates for 10 or more guests. For your group we are the ideal and affordable choice. Clean comfortable & inexpensive... and don't forget convenient too. We are just minutes from the ski slopes on the main road to the Taos Ski Valley.
All guests have free use of the kitchen facility in the morning and evening. After Ski Season at the Snowmansion - A Study and Outing Center The Snowmansion is the ideal location for group vacations, meetings, workshops, study tours and retreats. From a simple overnight accommodation as you travel through town, to a week of touring and recreational activities planned and organized by us, we are prepared to fill your group's needs and be your base of operations in the Taos area.
