Rhoda Blake The early ski industry needed good women, women unafraid of risk, hard work and hard lives. Rhoda Blake was, and is today, such a woman. She brought her grace, spirit and humor to the mountain venture that is Taos Ski Valley.

Rhoda was a powerful catalyst, urging Ernie to defy convention and found the ski resort that was his dream, and she was involved in almost every aspect of building Taos Ski Valley. Rhoda ran lifts, operated the ski and rental shops, taught ski school and pitched in on ski patrol. Designing trails was the most fun, she created "Totemoff", "Porcupine", "Lone Star" and many more. Think of her also when you ski "Rhoda's Revenge".

Rhoda cooked and "mommied" for everyone. Sometimes all nineteen employees, plus Ernie and kids, Mickey, Wendy and Peter, would cluster around the Blake's small dinner table. In spite of heavy snows and remote mountain terrain, Rhoda says "we never really felt isolated because it was like having an enormous family here." Today that sense of family sets us apart from other resorts, and it is in the warm, companionable spirit of Taos Ski Valley that we welcome you to Rhoda's Restaurant, like another member of the family.

Spicy Buffalo Wings - A pound of chicken wings tossed in a tangy hot sauce. Served with bleu cheese dressing - $9.

Nachos Grande - Tortilla chips topped with beans, jalapenos, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole and salsa - $9. Add beef or chicken for $2.

Caesar Salad - Crisp romaine lettuce topped with croutons, Parmesan and a traditional Caesar dressing. - small $5, full-size $9. Add chicken or salmon for $2.
Thai Chicken Salad - Grilled chicken breast on a bed of soba noodles tossed with a light Thai peanut dressing & stirfried vegetables - $11. Substitute shrimp for chicken for $2
Salmon Salad - Grilled salmon, mandarin oranges, edamame, cucumbers on mixed greens with crispy rice stick noodles & a creamy sesame ginger dressing - $11
Green Chile Stew - A local favorite made with pork, potatoes and served with a warm flour tortilla. - cup $4, bowl $6
